Textured Diorite

Tea Bowl

Inspired by ancient Egyptian diorite jars, carved from large pieces of
stone, this tea bowl is the roughest textured piece Annette has made.
The clay is very volcanic with a heavy gritty and stoney texture in contrast to its large porcelain chunks that were inlayed into the block pre-carving and are in some cases wafer thin post carving.
